Today we began class by reviewing the cell cycle and mitosis as a class and did a mini-lab where we looked at mitosis in an onion root tip (see Google classroom). For any students still having difficulties, please watch the videos below.
We then discussed how this process is controlled; all cells do not go through the cell cycle, nor do they do so at the same speeds. There are factors which control its timing, and if those factors go awry, bad things can happen, like cancer. The notes for this can be found towards the end of the Cell Cycle - Mitosis powerpoint in the "Notes/Lecture" folder under Unit 2.
