See how much you know about cells and their organelles before Monday! Look in the documents folder for the diagrams of 2 different cells. Label as much as you can without using any resources other than your brain. Turn your document into google classroom when finished.
Homework this weekend are pages 110-117. Today we discussed how we consider things "living" or "not living". See the appropriate powerpoint in the lecture folder for more information.
Assignment today is to complete a book about the levels of organization of life. The rubric for this assignment is in the documents folder. Pages that will help you in your book are 341-343. This assignment is DUE MONDAY and is worth 2 daily grades! Homework is pages 92-98. Don't forget to get your lab safety sheet signed by Friday!
We looked at lab equipment today. You will have a quiz over lab equipment and lab safety on Friday. You can find the lab equipment you need to know right here. We also made posters about lab safety. Tomorrow we will vote on the best posters!! :) Homework tonight is book reading; pages 338-339, 83-91. Today we (hopefully) will get our biology books on our iPads. If you were not here today, or did not bring your iPad, please see me ASAP, as you will start having homework over reading starting tomorrow.
We then discussed the scientific method and proper ways to represent data. Lecture notes can be found in the appropriate folder. Class work is the graphing activity found in the folder. Welcome to biology class! Hopefully you will have an excellent first day at FM9! On this blog you will find daily assignments. This is a great resource for you if you are absent (or if you just forgot what we did during the day). Today for homework, you will need to complete the following: 1. Take this survey about yourself. 2. Read, print the last page, and have yourself and a parent/guardian sign the safety contract found here. This MUST be turned in by Friday, Aug. 28; failure to do so will result in removal from all laboratory activities and zeroes for all associated grades. 3. Log into google classroom with the following codes: Second Period: trfl5l (those are letter “L”s) Third Period: wfc8an5 Fourth Period: h479d5x 4. Sign up for Remind. This resource will provide you with important reminders for class. Examples for what it might be used for are reminders for tests, project due dates, wearing appropriate lab clothing, etc. To sign up for Remind, text the message "@c202f" to number "81010", or see the document below. If you do not have unlimited texting, please sign up for email reminders instead. 5. Have your parents take this survey by Friday, Aug. 28. |
