​This assignment will count as a minor grade, and will exempt the lowest minor grade during the second nine weeks (quiz, homework, lab grade).  Your task is to:
1.  Watch the following video below (about 20 min.)
2.  Calculate your ecological footprint here.  Note:  You will need Adobe Flash for this and possibly your parents' help due to the nature of some of the questions.
3.  Choose one of the ecology infographics/websites below and read through it.

Invasive Species

Today we discussed how invasive species can impact native populations and the struggle with eliminating them.  

We then watched the Nature documentary "Invasion of the Giant Pythons".  A youtube version of it can be found below.

Trophic Levels

We began today by taking a quiz over evolution.  See Mrs. Smith if absent.

Today we discussed the trophic levels that comprise ecosystems on this planet and the various organisms that could fill each role.  The powerpoint can be found within the appropriate folder in Unit 5.  Students should read pages 354-361 in their book for the information in the powerpoint.  

After our discussion, students were tasked with creating a food web containing an organism FOUND HERE.  The food web can be done on paper or electronically and the requirements are found in the documents folder.  The assignment is due Thursday, November 9th.  This is your homework tonight along with pages 365-369.
