Next, students were to choose an animal from a pre-constructed list found here (or have approval from teacher for another animal), and create a foldable showing the animal's classification. The foldable must include the following:
- A cover of sorts with a picture of the animal, its common name, and its scientific name correctly written (12 points; 4 for each)
- The correct Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species for the organism (24 points; 3 for each taxon)
- At least 3 characteristics of each of the taxa (if an organism is the only individual in its particular taxon, you may include 3 general facts about the organism) (40 points; 5 for each taxon)
- A picture on each taxon that relates to the level of classification or the characteristics (24 points; 3 for each taxon) - 10 pt. deduction if not in color
**This assignment can also be done digitally, but must have phenomenal spelling and grammar, not be plagiarized (use your own words), and should have citations for all information and images used.**
A very rudimentary example is shown below. This assignment is due Wednesday, October 25th at the beginning of class. It will be worth 2 daily grades and will go into the grade book at the beginning of the second nine weeks.
