Use the DNA strand below to answer the following questions:

1. Create the strand of mRNA that would result after transcription (DNA to RNA; use the same beginning strand).
2. Use the genetic code chart (given Thursday) to determine what amino acids would be in this protein.
Today we reviewed the material we covered before our long weekend: protein synthesis. Please see the powerpoint in the notes folder if absent.
We then did a lab activity called "The Mysterious Monster". Students were tasked with taking 7 DNA strands, converting them to mRNA, then to amino acids, and ultimately determining the traits that the DNA coded for. Students will then draw a monster that has the seven traits in question. The lab can be found on google classroom if absent (or if you lose yours) or in the Labs/Activities folder.
